Helping my friend with his 89 civic, stock motor. Here's the problem when you turn the key all the way over no lights come on (warning lights and such) the car turns over but doesnt start. The fuel pump doesnt come on either. It has spark though.

We have already tried a new main relay.. check all the wires..

Any ideas???

Your ignition switch is bad.

It's the white plastic one on the other side of the key inside the column.... 2 or so small screws hold it on to the ign switch after you get the column covers off =)

well, if your not getting any lights on the dash... it seems like either:

a fuse is blown
Main relay is bad
ignition switch for the "on" setting/wire is not functioning properly.

check for power at the ecu with IGN on... I bet there wont be any.
