Hey guys... Just received my new motor from hmotors online. I have to hand it to hmotors... they really know how to ship a motor...
http://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Engine_001.jpg
I was very impressed with the wrapping job they did... it was actually a pain in the arse to take off... quality packaging... Shipping was quick too.. I think it took 5 or 6 days going from So. Cal to Delaware.
http://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Engine_012.jpg
Freaking nice valve cover!! I wasn't expecting the motor to look this nice. I was thoroughly shocked and excited. The motor is so clean... it has approximately 35k on it..
http://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Engine_014.jpg
Here is the all important code on the block... My first time ever seeing these two letters... I was happy to see them.
http://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Engine_007.jpg
Intermediate shaft!!! WooHoo!
http://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Engine_015.jpg
Here are a couple pix of the transmission... Can you guys tell me anything about this transmission? I have no idea what these particular numbers mean... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there is no LSD in this tranny.. I know some people get lucky with LSD's.. You guys tell me...

Well, the motor/tranny combo was $550. Shipping was another $200.
I didn't get the axles with the motor since I didn't have the extra cash..
With new axles and odds and ends (new belts, fuel filter, oil, oil filter, motor mount inserts, spark plugs and wires) I'll probably be looking at about a grand, give or take.

Yea he was extremely helpful and answered all the questions I had. I had no clue the motor would be this clean. I thought it would be on a pallet, unwrapped, open to the elements.
I will be buying all future motors from hmotorsonline.com! :TU:

SOHC ZC has the larger diff, so you'll need to swap diff gears to run unequal length axles, or find equal length ones.
My SOHC ZC was also that clean when I got it from HMO. They fucking rock. :TU:

I don't think I'd feel too good about an engine that was shipped sitting on it's oil pan. Better check your pickup clearance.

Hey guys... i'd like to take this oppurtunity to show you some pics of other stuff that will be installed with the motor...
FLP Shifter.. With the Skunk2 shift knob... perfect match! SWEEEET!!

50 damn dollars but this thing is quality. It's heavy as hell too... 400 grams! I had no idea what 400 grams felt like til I got the box in the mail...
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a254/xxshowstoppaxx/IMG_2229.jpg
Here are some pictures of my motor mount inserts..
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a254/xxshowstoppaxx/IMG_2220.jpg
Do these look weird to you guys? I mean they are two completely different shapes... are these the correct tranny inserts? Or did they ship it wrong? At first glance (not knowing what the tranny mount looks like) i'd think they were shipped wrong..
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a254/xxshowstoppaxx/IMG_2222.jpg
This new motor, shifter, and inserts should be a night and day difference..
I'm currently running a D15B2 non vtec on a PM6 ecu... runs like shit! This should be a niiice upgrade!

I just got approved for leave... i'm taking 12 or so days just to swap the motor... I will start the swap in the next few days...
This is my first swap so it's going to take some time.. But I have help.. the guy that put my d15b2 in is going to let me do everything and give me some help every now and then.. Should be fun!
I have my Haynes manual... and this forum so I think I should do just fine.

You can never have too many manuals (http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/). You will have to setup an account, but it takes 2 minutes and is free. I got a 1,200 page manual for my 95 from there. Might not be exactly what you need, but thought I'd throw it out there for you to decide.
Good luck with the swap!!

In with the new!
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap0270.jpg
I kinda got caught up in the swap and didn't take more actual work pics..
We had to bust out the grinder a couple of times.. I guess there's a counterbalance on the bottom of the shift linkeage.. it was hitting my exhaust so we put the grinder to it. The car still isn't running.. but we'll check the main relay. Spindles is a different story... have to go get some DA spindles in a day or so... until then the car is on hold.
I will be putting up some finished pics and also a driving vid when I get the car running.

Ok now that the work pics are done... here are the stupid pics..
Honestly we took more screwing around pics than work pics..
The crew...
The lead tech.. He knew how to do everything we didnt... which was just about everything.
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap013.jpg
The monkey... pretty much ran around doing crazy crap all day. He was vital to moral and also assisted our leader immensely... Oh and the shocker paid us a little random visit... (SEE RED CIRCLE)
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap006.jpg
And finally, me.. yea I spread my noobness around like aids.. doing stupid things and asking stupid questions... They couldn't have done it without me!
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap009.jpg
Motor humping... gotta give the old one some lovin too!
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap010.jpg
lol.. I guess he's hiding..
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap020.jpg
As you can see in this picture... we didn't drain the transmission fluid from the old motor.. Once we took the old axles out... SURPRISE!! The majority of the swap sucked because we had no foot traction.. it was worse than one might think...
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap021.jpg
We had to use the old wiring harness.. the new one, which looked sooo nice, was missing a plug that was on the old one... anyway.. here are some JDM dreadlocks..
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap024.jpg
And JDM junk...
https://home.comcast.net/~terrenceweston/Swap/Swap025.jpg
That is the extent of the pics right now.. more will come as we progress a little more.. thanks for lookin..

HMOTORS is great Ive bought 2 D15bs, 1 DOHC ZC, 1 LSD trans, 1 b20b, 1 ZC ecu, and a ton of interior parts from him, prices are fairly reasonable and customer service is awesome. I bought a D15b that had a bad valve and he paid the shop over the phone with a credit card to fix it instead of having it shipped back.

would the zc be a plug and play fo a 91 dx sedan ??????? if not how hard woud it be
No, not exaclty... You would need to run an PM6 ecu... If I remember you are running a PM5? If so you will have to rewire.. that PM5 is a DPFI ecu? The PM6 is MPFI.. someone tell me if i'm completely wrong.
You WILL need new spindles... unless you use your current transmission.. If you buy the ZC tranny, you will need axles from a 90-93 integra which means you will need new spindles to fit those axles. Si civics and crx's came with different spindles... so the spline count is more than the dx spindles... Those Integra axles will not match up to your DX spindles. Cool thing is, if you get Integra spindles you will get bigger brakes...
You can always use your current transmission which would be the most cost efficient option. Then the only thing you'd have to deal with then is the ECU and wiring issue...
