heres what happens when you over tighten a water outlet housing bolt when the thermostat isn't seated correctly.

this is from my wife's 97 ford taurus btw. i had just finished rebuilding the engine when i did this.

ur right s_18. you should see the 3 inch crack on the head i replaced and the chunk blown off of the #2 exhaust valve. arent fords great?

what really pissed me off was getting up at the buttcrack of dawn on a sunday morning to drive way the fuck down to pick your part to get a replacement housing
