tranny question?

hey guys i have a d16y7 and im looking to get quicker acceleration what would be the best tranny for my 98 civic i was recommended both d16z6 and d16y8... whats the diff and which will benifet my car more keep in my mind im a daily driver and im looking for somthing reliable?

si transmissions are closer together, better for racing and crap along that line. Its not as spaced out as the dx models and such. but ex, and si's transmission are close ratio, gives it a better and sporter stamina.
