I can't remember if you have to press or pull em out.

I have to do a set of front balljoints on an acura tomorrow, and I need to know what tool I need to get tonight..... so a quick reply will be a GODSEND!

If it's a puller, I think this will work...

hahah///i always pressed them in/out. make sure you freeze the new ones before putting them in if you don't have a press. it makes life easy!

so you have to press em... okay.... I guess we will have to take that one when it comes... cause we don't have a press ourselves, and we'll have to find a good bottlejack for my buddies old press =)

Thanks for the info. At-least we aren't gonna blow the money on a puller we won't need for this job =D

As far as the Haynes manual: At-least you don't recommend chiltons :TU:

pound them out, pound them in, done............

Also helps if you have the proper "ring" when pounding in the new BJ's

can't get the socket on the lower BJ to drive it in.........

has to be a ring from a BJ press kit, like you'd buy at Harbor Freight.

<-Using a Harbor Freight press kit. Old hammer and deep well socket to knock it out, and the press to press it in.

most auto zones and oreilly's dont have chiltons but almost always have haynes..... i know on civic's you have to replace the arm,the lbj isnt pressable...

edit the upper arm and the tie rod arms have to be replaced, not sure about lower ball joint on the arm....

The $40 3-1 kit($30 online; the guy at the store told me the retail stores, mail order stores, and internet stores are seperate). I had a 15% off store coupon :-D so I saved like $3-4 from going there myself(IIRC, it's like $37 shipped)
