So it is 7pm I go and check my mail and get this letter from burien towing in burien WA... I open it, then see that it is my old 2000 honda civic coupe impounded I am in hillsboro, OR and am like WTF...

I traded in that car 5 weeks ago to beaverton honda for my Subaru wrx 2003... I got thinking what to do... the letter states that there were no plates but it has me as the registered owner still....??? confused abit.

So should I be the good person and call beaverton honda and say wtf why is this car still registered under me and I still haven't received my new registeration for my suby.(mind you it is 5 weeks ago they were supposed to send off the dmv shit)...

Is dmv just slow?

Or my buddy said that he would go up and pay for the impound charges 291.86 if I pay for gas so we could put it up on his flat bed trailer, and we could sell it for 8000 to some kid and split 50/50. Being that it is not stripped or totaled..

Thank you for taking the time to read this long post lol

Call the dealership right away in the morning, about your regrestation. If they are sending it to you, or its on the way, you can go back and more than likly leagly get that car. Parting it out wont so much be the best thing right away.

yeah but i work at a dealership and we get cars traded in all the time with no title and we jus send them to auction or file for a mechanics lien and get a title that way and the customer still has the original

Well, just got off the phone with beaverton honda and I gave them the hole story. They told me that they would take care of it by calling the impound place and letting them know that it has changed ownership and that I would not be responsible for anything.

About getting my new registration, she explained that there was an error in on the previous ownership and they just prosessed the paper work to dmv on 10/25/06 so I should receive my new registration in 2 to 4 weeks

I guess this means that I am in the clear now so that is good. The error on the title was something to do with the previous owner, I guess she told me that there were 2 previous owners but really there was only 1. which makes since to me because I was able to look at the car fax report and showed the first female owner had it for like 1500 miles, then the second female owner had it for 60000 miles.

call the dealer without a title the car would do you no good unless parted out, and then it could come back on you that you stole the car...
