I use the EMS... I picked up 20whp over the stock P2P ECU! Not sure about Neptune. Can't it only be installed by a dealer? The EMS is plug'n play and you tune from a generic base map. There's tons of info on the AEM forums also.

I picked up a used aemems a couple years ago. Just about anything you can think of is adjustable. Takes a bit of trial and error to figure out how it all works. 400+hp d16z6 makes me happy. :)

Well, when and if Neptune is ever available directly to end users, I may buy one as an upgrade. Today though, I don't have any Neptune dealers near me, so I can't get one even if I wanted it...
In the mean time, the AEM EMS does a pretty good job.

i'll stick with CROME thanks. it really doesn't matter what EMS you go with, as long as you have someone tuning with it that knows what the hell they're doing.

If monbey isnt the problem, an standalone is always better as an stock ecu with limited functions. But only if you are familar with all functions

Not sure about the others, but AEM EMS can do 2 step, anti-lag, knock control, EGT control, 02 feedback, boost control, nitrous control, traction control, automatic transmission control and even variable valve control. VTEC or non-VTEC is completely up to configuration. There are compensation calibrations for almost anything,
There are even dedicated monitoring LCD displays available like this -> http://www.gauge-tech.com/
Or even entire clusters like this -> http://www.aimsports.com/products/AEM-digital-display/index.html
It really is a very powerful system. Sure, it's a lot of hard work to do on your own, but any good tuner can get you going pretty quickly. My tuner got it running really well (+20whp over stock P2P) in just 1 hour. Maybe another hour or 2 and he could have gotten all the part throttle dialed in well too. I don't think he ever used an AEM EMS before.
And, since it's not that easy for everybody, you can benefit and pick one up used for cheap!! That what I did... $800!

im running uberdata obd1 p06 to vtec... 2 step is the best thing in the world... i guess if i ever make over 300whp ill consider a standaloe over a honda ecu but for a street car.. its really not worth it..

There's a reason why EMS is so powerful compared to Neptune and others:
Crome=stock Honda ECU
Hondata=stock Honda ECU
Neptune=stock Honda ECU
Uberdata=stock Honda ECU
AEM EMS=stand alone AEM EMS ECU
Crome, Neptune, etc. are just software programs used for creating maps, but still using stock Honda hardware. AEM EMS is a new ECU/hardware with their own software to configure it.
I dont even want to get into this conversation.
Nep is awesome, a little more $$ then S300 but same options
AEM...Worked with it...not thrilled and not thrilled with the self learning options either...like if it detects any, ANY, knock it detunes itself...
Nep is only available thru certain distributors
Same with hondata and hydraems
AEM is widely known but very difficult if you have never used anything.
You can actually do a majority of AEM functions that you can with Hondata.
I love tuning on S300 simply because everything is there, and there is nothing hidden and it is FOR honda's.....wish they made something similar for my car....im stuck with either EMS or Hydra..

Electromotive TEC is the only system I have found to be worthwhile. No dizzy, No MSD, No resistor boxes, No bs CEL's, just simply makes power with zero issues.
Set it and forget it...
