I am doing a DPFI to MPFI swap on a 1989 Civic Hatch. I bought a d16Y7 motor and intake and want to go ahead and use the intake thats on it until I can afford to get an SI intake. Will I need to have the resistor box for the injectors on the 2000 model D16Y7 intake. Ithink they are a high impedance injector. Help......signed, confused.

To use the newer injectors, you will have to remove the box and wire the power straight to the injectors bypassing the resistor box. It might be easier to find a set of the older low impedence injectors however.

What would be difficult about it? I haven't done the DPFI to MPFI change yet. In doing the change with these injectors I would just leave out the resistor box? Thanks for the reply.

Dpfi cars dont have a resistor box to begin with. Just wire up all the injectors like you are doing a mpfi swap, but instead of running the red/blk or yel/blk wires to the resistor box just wire all of them straight to the yel wires going to the dpfi injectors. And then run the other wires to the ecu like stated in the mpfi swap instructions.

Ok quick question,I have done the dpfi to mpfi swap and currently run the cbr itb setup.I want to use the cbr injectors so will i need to just cut the wires I have going to the resistor box to bypass it?

if the cbr injectors are high impendence, remove the resistor box. wire it straight to the injectors.
