i have a 97 vtec motor in my 99, but the vtec isn't working b/c i haven't gotten around to putting the ecu in.

Now that i have time. The plugs r all different. Should i run a obd 1 ecu (p28) or use the ecu that i got Obd II 96-98, or buy a si/ex ecu from a 99-00.

Wuts the best and cheapest option to get my vtec working??

tia!!

What 99 do you have? DX/LX or EX?

And I believe you want a P2P ecu. (OBD2 SOHC VTEC D16Y8)

Get an OBDIIb P2P ecu (99-00) or get yourself a p28 ecu and an OBDIIb -OBDI conversion harness

don't mean to whore but, if one wanted to run the p28 ecu, would one need to also get a p28 dizzy, or just the conversion harness?

Edit: what are the benefits of running the p28 ecu?

Just the conversion harness is what you need besides the P28

The benefits are the ability to tune the ECU to your needs a hell of a lot easier than a P2P ecu.
