Since ive heard some bad things about the emanage, What about using a vortec FMU with stock injectors running the 6psi that the kits wastegate is set at? Will it be suffiencient enough? And what ratio should I use? 10:1?? or lower? also, if I want to goto 8 psi, will the stock injectors hold, or should I upgrade? Will dsm injectors fit easily?

OK, to begin to sort our your post..

eManage is an AFC on stereoids. If you can get it for the same price, as an A'pexi unit, fine, use it, otherwise, it's got some superfulous non-sense that isn't needed, plus you have to purcahse additional "harnesses" to even take advantage of the addition features.. big waste-o-money.

Second, and FMU will work, however, you'll need either a missing link, or some check-valves inline to your MAP sensor to bleed of boost and keep the CEL at bay. Depending on how much air flow the turbo puts off, you might want to try 10:1 for 6psi on stock injectors should be fine. Anything higher, and I would choose a different fuel management setup.

Which brings us to the third point, DSM injectors. You cannot use DSM injectors and an FMU without modifying your ECUs fuel table to scale the injector pulse widths to compensate for the increased flow. This is normally what an AFC would do, indirectly, by modifying the MAP sensor input to the ECU. ..so long story short? DSMinjectors will work but you'll either need to ditch the FMU, and get an AFC, or, modify your ECU and run engine management software.

Check out the Engine Management FAQ (a sticky topic at the beginning of this forum) for more information.

ok, so I can run an FMU at 10:1 with a missing link at 6 psi OR get dsm injectors and a AFC. Ok , for mow Ill go with the FMU cause cash is tight, but when I need a boost in power,ll slpurge and get the AFC with some dsm injecotrs. 8)

Sounds like a plan. :D

oh, one more question, would a 12:1 work or be too rich? and with a 12:1 could I bump the boost up just a little bit?

12:1 might run you a little rich on the GReddy kit, again, depending on the CFM of the turbo.

But yes, a 12:1 will let you bump up just a few more psi. I wouldn' run more than say 7-8psi on it, really. Your fuel pressure will be through the roof, and your pump will likely fail.

ok, sorry for so many questions, but since the greddy kit comes with an emanage, if I would go to a junkyard and pull some 440's will this be sufficient with the e-manage to boost up to 8psi? I will use an IC and I really doubt Ill ever go higher than 8. Just need to be reasured. I figured, since so many people say the emange is just like an afc why spend more money when it comes with the kit? bigger injectors seem to be the ticket. Also, what about a fuel pump? will I need a new one with 440's with the emanage or will it work fine since the fule system pressure isnt being changed? And do you know where I can get a picture version of pinouts for a p06 since Im using my b7 engine?

Thanks a TON for all the help!! :D

As long as eManage can curb MAP enough for 440s. But ya, 440s will work for 8psi. No you won't need a fuel pump, stock will work fine on stock pressure.

..why do you need pinouts for the P06? Get DSM Injectors (450cc in the 1g, and the 440cc in the 2g).

oh, the pinout isnt for the injectors, its for wiring the e-manage.

Oh, OBD1 injectors go like this.. #1 is A1, #2 is A3, #3 is A6, and #4 is A2.

do all obd1 ecus have the same pinout? I mean, I have a helms manual but its just hard to figure out most of the abbriviations for everything.

Generally, yes. Civic ECUs should have the same pinout, plus or minus a few pins for required operations that one ECU might have over another (VTEC, Knock Blah blah blah blah..)
