So as some of you may know that my las thread consisted of a surging idle that is fixed now. But After putting everything back on, the damn thing does not build the 8 psi that it was doing when i had a bad surging idle wtf. So i checked my charge piping and everything is held really tight, checked the wastegate flapper in the turbo and it is shut. I also checked the vacuum line on the wastegate and no leaks. I also checked the hose clamps and they are tight as well. Any ideas as i am very stumped

Exhaust leak before the turbo. Clogged Cat. Leaking BOV.

I'd probably go with the leaking BOV

are you the same person that started the thread?????
if so, the actuator should not move freely. it should be hard to pull out. but the flapper should move freely

No i'm the person that started the thread, thats my bro. What he was saying is that when you pull the actuator it is hard but does not bind.

Its from the intake manifold.

I've check it a few times and changed the bov for one that I now is in good working condition. I still don't know what it can be? All I did was change the intake manifold gasket turn it on and no boost:wtf: .

vaccuum source for the wastegate should be from compressor.

Then it wouldn't be a vaccum source now would it. :p

the compressor blows air right?

well what im saying it that the source for the wastegate should be from the little nipple on the compressor of the turbo. thats were ive always put it

^^^ also if you have the wastegate line going to the manifold, the nipple on the compressor has to be plugged or thats a huge boost leak

yeah my turbo doesn't have that nipple thing so I'll just run it to the IM

Same here. It was runing good the night be for. It was holding 8psi with no problem, only thing was the coolent, we fix that the no boost. We also ran it with no vac to the wastgate and nothing.

there is a place to drill on most of them. its really easy to drill it out and put a nipple in. with it hooked at the compressor you will get a slight pressure drop, but there is less chance of spiking than with it at the IM

It was runing like that for a while, from the IM with no problems. No spiking or anything, but know nothing.

After checking everything I found the problem. The fucking turbo is shot.:cussing: So now I don't no what to do, 1) I go back to NA for now or 2) see if I get one of those xspower turbo, but i'm not to sure about those turbos. What you guys think I should do?

I'd just find a used replacement for what you have now, or have your current one rebuilt. BTW, what are you useing now?

It is a used 300zx turbo that I had got for free, it had like almost zero shaft play and now the compressor blades are touching the housing. I can get an t3o4e xs power turbo from my friend for $150. Do you think I should get it?

As long as the wheels aren't bent, you can get it rebuilt for that price or less. Sounds like the thrust bearing wore out and that's your problem.
