97 Y8 I.M. on a 99 Y7 head

I read the thread about the 99 Y8 intake manifold not being compatible with a 96 Y8 head. I thought they were all compatible.

I have a 97 Y8 I.M. I'm planning to eventually use on my 99 Y7 engine. My question is; is there some reason this won't be compatible? If so, what do I have to do to make it work?

It will work without modification. The problem is when you use the 99+ IM on a pre 98 head. Air injection holes in the 99+ IM's usually result in air leaks unless completely sealed.

So that problem wouldn't apply to me because I'm using a pre-98 I.M. on a 99 head?

Correct. Make sure to use the 96-98 IM gasket
