Hey guys, I am about to chip my p28 ecu to run crome pro. I seen that xenocron.com has two different chipping kits. One uses a SST EEPROM and the other uses AMTEL EPROM. What is the difference and which one do you guys suggest I get?
BTW, what is better to datalog with, the USB or the SERIAL cable?

The ATMEL chip is a 256K EEPROM and the SST is 512K. They're both flash chips so there's not really a difference aside from the memory size. You program the SST with an 8000 offset. They work exactly the same though.
USB or Serial would work fine... it probably depends on what your laptop is able to use...

^^ what he said...
also, the amtel is discontinued, so its a little more expensive.
and odds are, a usb datalogging cable would be best, because not all laptops nowadays have a serial port.

Yes, you can get an Ostrich and leave it in full time and call it a day. If you have the funds..go for it ;)
