a buddy of mine who is a mechanic, was shootin the shit with me about this and that and then we start talkin about honda's. so he goes on about how he got a job assembling jdm engines for this guy and so on. Then he starts telling me that he just got a accord i forget what year he said i think 97 anyways he says he has a na h23 motor that has 450hp and i say :bull: so then he goes on sayin that he has a y8 and is going to put these titanium sleeves in it worth 3 grand and twin turbo it. i say you cant twin turbo a 4 banger he says you can and is goin on and on about. so i was wondering am i right or is he, not just about the turbo but about the h23.

Well...if you ever followed HMT a twin turbo has already been done. You are both sort fo right although I think your buddy is full of shit! titanium huh...just shove some cryptonite down his intake and place a money race on the line. Oh right right, it will never see the day. Call him out on that.

No clue....Maybe to show people you had enough money to but 2 turbos:slap:

it was done to show that it could be done and produce hp, but it was only done to prove a point (and the person who did it already had almost everything needed to do it, so it was reletively cheap for him to do so)

Make sure you have 4 tiny intercoolers to go with it and run ITB's! Might as well have 4 exhaust pipes running it all out.

I love how everyone responds well to the octet of turbos on the chebby, but the idea of a properly setup twin turbo 4 cylinder or remote mount sounds crazy. Just because something isn't commonly done doesn't mean that it can't work or doesn't work.
One of the coolest parts about hot-rodding is the ingenuity that goes into fabricating parts as opposed to throwing off the shelf parts at a project. No disrespect to anyone that buys a turbo kit, as it is a perfectly good option, but doing something on your own says alot.

that whould produce soo much heat it whould be pointless.
big single turbo ftw.
smaller turbos are good for quick spool, but make too much heat. a larger single turbo whould make the same goals without blowing soo much hot air.
the twin turbo settups that ive seen on another forum where done the right way. i think its good for originality. but for performance, ya gotta go single. its easier to work on as well.

.. put these titanium sleeves in it...
Does he know how hard it is to machine titanium? Nearly impossible with regular machine tools. Not to mention just honing the damn thing... :bull:
1 big turbo= more efficient than 2 or more smaller turbos.

yup...............serious discussion thread material right there.........lol.
Titanium sleeves... what an idiot... Smile, nod, and next time you have him near other car enthusiasts and he starts talking, ask him to talk about his titanium sleeves... Then lots of people would be able to make fun of him ;-)
Seriously, titanium sleeves is really retarded. Aside for being a bitch to machine, it also tends to react with other metals and sieze... Not exactly what you want for sleeves...
