friend dirve a 2001 GSR. he drove it yesterday. it ran fine but he said he was low on gas. full tank now. today he try starting it up no start. it crank and turn ova the motor. it dose have spark at #1 but i do not smell any fuel. we try push starting it and it still dose not start. i am thinking it the fuel pump but not #100 sure. what esle can it be?

How low on gas was it? Like totally empty? If so it could be the fuel pump sucked air and it hasen't bled out yet, but repeated cranking would take care of that. Can you hear the pump turn on if your under the rear of the car and turn the key from the "off" position to the "run" position?

he said it was pretty low. i mean it only have like aboue 50k miles. fuel pump i funna check it out tomorrow. i did not have a chance to lift up the car. about this fuel pump sound, what should it sound like?

If he has a full tank it will sound like a low hum from the gas tank.

you(dweezil) was talking about bleeding the gas line. how many time do we have to crank it ?

I can't imagine it would take more than 3-4 times of flipping the key from off to run and letting it sit for 2-3 seconds. It's been a long time sence I've had to do it.

we crank it more time then that. i funna go to school tomorrow and look up spec for the fuel pump. alll data is the shyt. if anyone want me to look up shyt for them just give me a holla.

alrite today i found out that the fuel pump is 0k13. all i did was open the bolt on the fuel filter and gas just came out. so now i am thinking it might be the Main relay. i hear that they like to break alot of them gsr.

If it were the main relay it woulden't crank. I'd look for a blown fuse or even a clogged fuel filter.

does this apply to obd2 cars, because i have known many times on obd0 cars that the car will crank but not start because of the main relay??????????????

i open the bolt after the filter. so i do not think it is clogged. i funna check if eva plug is getting spark. anything esle i can check for? if it was an unplugg sensor wouldn't their be a check engine light?

i found out what was the problem. when he ran out of gas, all the dirth at the bottem of the gas tank got into his injector and it clogg it. is there any way of cleaning the injectors?
