I have a d16y8 intake with no IACV it was missing despite the seller informing me it was there. I have a couple kicking arround from z6 Intake are there any differences will these work with obd2?
I did search came up with nothing.
Thanks
yeah, manual IACV's are pretty much the same... The hole on my y8 one was bigger than on my z6 one, but it made no difference

just make sure your getting a 3 or 2 wire to match your harness.

yeah I need a 2 wire... and that is what I have only from a z6 so I just wanted to make sure I had the parts that will work before I do my head swap.
Thanks

Ok so I learned that Z6 IACV on Y8 manifold is tight to get the plug on. and that the A6 IACV will not work the bolt pattern is different.

Hmm my iacv's were the Same aside from the diameter of the air passage... wierd

when i swapped a y8 mani in my 88 rex, the iacv plugged right in..... so it doesnt make any sense why the z6 wont plug into the y8..... just my .02
edit... just checked the connector from the d15b iacv to the d15b6 iacv and they connected, so a obd1 fits a obd0 and a obd2 fits a obd0, so a obd2 should fit a obd1, at least the electrical part...

Just dont plug your IACV connector into the IAT and vice versa...makes for messy ECU bits. PCS gets plugged in improperly lots too...be careful.

What would happen if they were plugged in the wrong plugs?

my friend has this problem too... is it safe to grind that little nub on the back of the y8 mani for it to clear it?

all B series IACV's are the same as the y8, the D series OBD1 IACV's wont work.
Im runing a B16 IACV right now.

Not entirely accurate, the z6 Iacv will fit. they bolt up properly but there is a little alumnium nub that makes it tight for the clip to clear it. But if you are gentle and slide it on it will fit without too much trouble... The IACV works just fine with obd2 y8 so I don't see how obd1 Iacv's wont work mine is working just fine.
