I took the plunge and ordered up a T25 today,
I've got the JDM D15b in a 94 cx hatch.
I've got a CX manifold from the engine I killed before the D15b.
I've got 2 good welders and a pretty good auto shop at my disposal from 6pm on every night and Sundays.
I'm searching now for an intercooler and piping and some gauges.
Here's my problem, I also have a girl in Med school so I'm broke as hell.
I know it's going to take me awhile to build this piece by piece,
1 Can I mount this all up and keep the boost nice and low till i set up some injectors and crome?
2 can i use chrome with my socketed p08?
3 can I use an air/fuel gauge with my narrowband o2 or is that pretty much useless? I plan on getting a wide band later when i do go to crome.
4 anyone know a crome friendly shop in MI or OH?
5 any other advice with this combo?
I wish I could shop the classifieds here but I Totally understand why you set it up the way it is.
And you guys in Mount Clemens, hit me up if you want to get some lunch and let me take pics of your setup, I've never seen a car that was turbo that was non factory and all my buddies are into big stupid trucks so I'm all alone on the D front.

See signature for most answers!
Buy the parts as you can afford them and once you get everything then put it together. It's not worth blowing a motor to speed everything up.

Sorry about the Narrow band question, I'm an asshat on that one,
Now shopping for wideband setup.
I tried joining MichigaCivics.com and never recieved an activation
Thanx for the response

The activations are all done manually due to spammers. The narrow band guages are slow and far from accurate for any real tuneing. All they really tell you is if your rich or lean, just not how far off you are.
Socketing your P08 isen't a problem at all, and I know FMM does tune CHROME.
I know they were running a special on ECU chipping, fuel pump and injectors, but I have no idea if that's still going of not.

I actually have a chipped p08, this is the same socket that would be in a p28 right?

1. never run a car boosted without some sort of engine management and a proper tune. you engine can blow up with as little boost that you give it without maganement. your best bet for low low boost without injecters is an fmu wich is good up to around 5 psi. youd also need a walbro 255 for this settup. but this is the shittiest management for boost possable, still better than nothing. which brings us to question#2
2. if its a 94 obd1 go with whatever your tuner is comfortable with. i have crome pro, but thats just one option. uberdata is another. for engine management id go to the engine management forum. the know a hell of alot more than i do.

3. ditch the af guage. imo its a waste of money, just a ricer light show. for the same money you can get some dsm 450 injectors which whould help question #1
id reccomend a plx m-300 for the wideband. but theres others out there that will do the job just fine. http://www.plxdevices.com/M-300PlugAndPlay/M-300PlugAndPlay_Unit_SmallGray.jpg
4. sorry i dont.
5. dont rush into driving an incomplete turbo settup. take your time and do it right. read up, ask questions, and do your homework. read "maximum boost" by corky bell to learn your turbo 101. things you might want to focus on rather than the af guage and wideband.
dsm 450 injectors.
chipped p28 ecu with engine management of the tuners choice.
clutch that will hold your new settups torque.
walbro 255 or 190. both are about the same price.
id reccomend an autometer boost guage and oil guage, thats it!
get an ebay intercooler, i run one and they work just fine. you dont need a big one, maybe 6" tall by 24" wide by 3" thick. if you get really deperate, you can even use a dsm intercooler.
happy boosting

^^ the plx SM-AFR (http://www.plxdevices.com/products_SMAFR.htm)
with the digital A/f guage is pretty much the same thing as the m-300, but theres a control box you would have to hide somewhere... its more of a replacement for the stock narrowband sensor, isnt as portable, however it sounds like you think you are going to start at a small amt of boost and probably go up from there... with the sm-afr/guage combo, you could keep it in your car, have a/f the guage in a guagepod, and because its going to replace your stock narrowband sensor, it has a narrowband output for your ecu to be pleased with... plus, it is 46 bucks cheaper!!
im getting one as soon as i can afford it!
good luck, and ps, if you think you can handle the time and effort, tune it yourself

dont rush into driving an incomplete turbo settupgreat advice.
when i pieced together my first kit, it took me about a year to collect everything i needed. i did the full install all at once and self-taught myself how to tune because i was on a budget. i would not throw a turbo on until you have EVERYTHING you need, you are just running the risk or breaking something

there is a kit that converts an autometer a/f gauge into a wideband. a lot cheaper than getting the lc-1 or m series.

there is a kit that converts an autometer a/f gauge into a wideband. a lot cheaper than getting the lc-1 or m series.all it does is convert the gauge to read a wideband output. you still have to buy a wideband and then the converter. and even then all you get is a light, not an actual afr...

its good for knowing how lean or rich you are running, but definitely not worth tuning with... you need the actual numbers to be able to tune accurately
