i just bought a d16z6 a few months back and i dumped about $3000 into it anything you can think of eagle rods, CP pistions 0.20 over morosso oil pan (for the block) and the head crower turbo stage 2 cam , comp cams springs 240 lbs. titanium retainers., ferrea valves coated black with a 5 angle valve job, ported and polished sleeved block the things a beast...but i didnt realize this until last night that the motor has a jdm D15z1 vtec head on it...now it is better or the same as a z6 head...member this is a turbo motor i dont care about compression but will the head be ok performance wise?

Are you sure it's the VTEC-E haed, or is it the D15B Vtec?

If it say P08, it is a D15B head(same thing as a d16z6 head)

correct.
if i remember correctly if you had the d15z1 head on a z6 you would have extremely high compression

if you do infact have a D15B head then your timing is off :) I know from first hand experience. You need to run a y8 cam gear with that combo due to the keyway being off on the D15B cam. The Z1 head is off a USDM VX model btw. Nothing "JDM" about it. I just re-read your post and you changed the cam so disreguard the y8 cam gear. Seems like you corrected that issue. The p08 stamping shows a D15B head. Hell for all we know you may just have a regular ol Z6 head on it. Theres really no difference except the cam keyway, camgear and intake mani (the d15b mani is same as z6 just missing the purge solenoid screw hole)

cool thanks alot guys...just making sure i didnt spend all that money on a head that wasnt goin to be right for my turbo build but if its the same as a z6 head then thats cool with me i can care less if i have a jdm head as long as it gets the job done

yup. the d15b head is exactly the same as a z6 head. ive heard that the d15b has a better stock cam. but since you replaced it. z6=d15b
