which cam gear?

i think i read here a while ago about the skunk2 and aem cam gears. which one is better?? ill be using a 59300 with it.

I'd go w/ the AEM gear. From what I understand they actually make the y8 and z6 cam gears differently whereas most others don't.

yeah aem makes them for a z6, skunk2 makes them for 88-00. i cant remember where i read this from but i think that there was either something wrong with the skunk or aem cam gear, something like it doesnt line up right??

im running an aem 3 bolt.. no problems for me

yea I accidently grabed the z6 one from AEM to run on my y8 you end up being 4.75 degrees off.

go rage racing they sponsor this site and have a No slip design. aem 3 bolt is my 2nd choice.

Sticker on the package says 8ft/lbs max. Rage design is 6-bolt, allen head bolts. Rage also includes the woodruff key for the camshaft.

I also own an STR gear. 5-bolt design, and they're standard 1/4"-head 12-pt bolts. Plus, it's a pretty color, lol. But, the key is not included.

Neither will slip.

The timing marks are easier to set on the STR, when you learn how it works. I like both, but the STR has more precise timing marks.

Ive seen the AEM 5 bolt snap...

it sometimes breaks right on the little snowflake paren or w/e the hell it is lol.
