Y8 head bolts, what size or type of socket is required?

Hey, I have some ARP head studs for a y8 head... I don't have a socket that fits. Is it just a 12 point socket cause all of mine are only 6 point sockets?
Anybody with the info please let me know.

Yes, you'll need a 12 point socket.

I used a 12 point 12mm on mine. Go invest in some 12 point sockets, they are well worth it.

perfect I bought a 12mm 12 point socket... they are surprisignly hard to find... sears didn't have them in stock and neither did Canuck Tire... wow.

make sure it's a 12 point 12mm deep socket



I had a hard time finding one too. Sears had one left in stock, from what I remember.

I did actually buy the deep socket knowing full well tha it was a nut goign onto a stud. Thanks for the reminder though... you guy's are way better than some of the jerks on HT
