dohc will give you more tunability, because you can adjust the intake/exhaust cam idividually, resulting in a better flowing head.

but that's only if you're into making sure you car runs 110%, 90% of the time.

For SOHC go with the D16Z6
For DOHC go with a B16A

I am partial to the B16A because I had one in my old car. Pulled like a mofo.
