mini me timing

I have a b7/z6 mini-me in my hatch and havent yet put on a y cam gear to fix the timing issue. How bad is the car suposed to run with it not fixed? The car seems to not have as much power as it should. Also what is the best base ignition timing seting to start with?

Heh no replys its ok though after fixing some wiring issues it spun a rod bering while idling in the driveway :( . No more mini-me for me. I have a z6 block im going to build but in the mean time meanwhile its back to the good ol' d15b1 obd1/mpfi this time around.
