Ok, i search the forum but didnt find anyone in my same situation. I have a 1996 Civic LX - which stock has a d16y7. It no longer runs. I am going to put a d16y8 in it. So im replacing the entire thing. I was wondering if this would be different then a mini me swap. I know i need a ECU from a EX, and the wireing for the Vtec. Except for that , what else should i need?
thanks.

You'll need to wire in the knock sensor.
You'll be going from a 3-wire IACV to a 2-wire so you'll have to cut the connector, wire that in and disconnect the extra wire where it connects to the ECU.
Or you can just get a Y8 wiring harness and re-wire your secondary O2 sensor.

I'll have to look up what I did and it's too late tonight.
But basically there are 4 wires to the sensor and I believe they were something like:
1) +12v
2) Ground
3) sensor to the ECU
4) sensor to the ECU
I'll get the specifiecs tomorrow. Sorry.

If you are replacing the complete engine (intake to oil pan) you will need the engine harness (or do some splicing) and the correct ECU.
1996-98 OBD2a = P2P ECU

Here's how to wire in the 2nd O2 sensor
Sensor plug
Pin 1 (WHT/RED) -> Pin 14 ECU plug D
Pin 2 (GRN/WHT) -> Pin 5 ECU plug A
Pin 3 (BLK/WHT) -> Pin 13 ECU plug D
Pin 4 (BLK/WHT) -> +12v (I used the BLK/YEL wire intended for the EVAP cannister vent shut valve which the EX has and my DX doesn't.)
