Ok, Well i am a self-confessed newbie to hondas... I currently own a 97 Toyota Corolla Seca with the 7AFE, now without expensive internal upgrades these can't hadle much boost... and the best time i've got NA (only extractors and an exhaust) is 16.617 @ 81.95MPH (which so far as i can tell is the 2nd fastest NA 7AFE corolla in Australia :D) but still thats not quick enough for me... :P

So I am wanting to upgrade to a car with a bit more space (the seca doesn't have the biggest boot, especially with my reasonable sized sub box) and with more power (or a strong motor that can handle enough boost to get quick times)

My aim is for low 14s high 13s... which should be reasonably easy to do with low boost (8-10psi)

Now a couple of options i'm considering atm is, EK Sedan (I personally really like the looks of them :D) or maybe a 7th Gen Sedan.

How much boost can the motors in either of those cars handle? Is low 14s high 13s a reasonable target with these cars?

crx or eg hatch or ek hatch

crx is only two seater... i want 4 minimum (i should have specified that...)

EG hatch and EK hatch - both are smaller than my corolla which i currently have so that would only meet one requirement (the speed...) and not the other (room... esp boot space) Hence why i said sedan...

EK would be my choice solely based on looks :TU:

you are going to find that Hondas are EXTREMELY easy to boost, and there are a TON of cheap engine management options. i havent been able to find anything close with any other manufacturer. check the stickies in the Forced Induction section for lots of info. good luck!

I know the background behind turboing motors... i want to know more the specifics behind the D16Y4 (I think thats the motor in the EK sedan) in the EK sedan, ie how much boost can they handle stock... what sort of power can be made with stock internals (with boost)?
