werd... d-series are too damn cheap to spend the time to rebuild.

well i mean - let's say the motor is knocking......if i replace the rods and pistons (z6 w/ TT rods and vitara pistons...) does that solve the knock? or is it the bearings and such...?

could be a piston slap or a bearing.

You should always replace the bearings when you take apart the bottome end and replace it with new parts anyways. So that should do it!

If you want to build it for boost or a high comp na now would be the time to do it.

sorry... I always like a good "knock knock" joke

I have one in my d15z1 right now...apparently a common issue/ annoyance with that motor...still runs strong...gets good mpg

if youve got a knock make sure first its not timing related or improper air/fuel combo

if it IS a rod...replace block...like they say d series are cheap

that's what i mean. if the engine was knocking - and i wanted to buy it... and thought of building for boost (TTrods - vitara pistons) would that be the only thing to fix on the bottom end? what else would i have to look for?

possibly crank could be done and not repairable!

Also will need all new bearings and rings!
