Hi, new to the forum, need some help with my motor, and was told this was the place to come. I have a EG4 with d15b2, and want to change it to d16z6. Bourght the engine with box, ecu, and driveshafts.

i wanna change the head gasket, timing belt, spark plugs and oil before i put the engine in.

What EXACTLY do i need to do, before i wack the engine in. Im a noob to this lol

I JUST did the identical conversion. You will need to run 2 wires for your vtec. You will need to change ECU's, and you won't have a catalytic convertor b/c the cat is in the b2 header, and the z6 isn't. Also you will have to wire from a one wire to 4 wire 02 sensor. ummm, you will also have to change your upper radiator housing from the b2, onto the z6, its a slightly different angle. easy job though.

You will need to do some more wiring before you will beable to fit that new engine in.

you need to run 8 new wires from the ecu

2x for the dizzy
4x for the injectors
1x for vtec
1x for your o2 sensor.

You will need to swap

2x wires around on a plug which connects to the manifold
I think the wires are Yellow Black and black.

You will then need a ..
1x resistor box
1x new dizzy plug for your wiring loom.

OBD0 to OBD1 Conversion harness for the ecu side.

It would be much easier...
if you did the mpfi swap and then .. did the engine swap

ok, thanks for the help so far guys.
If i got the harness, would all the wires come off that, and i just need to feed them to the right places??
do i deffinatly need a resistor box. and whats a dizzy plug ?

depends on which harness you buy,
The dizzy plug is the plug on the wiring loom which attaches its self to the dizzy end.

1x obd1 injector harness
1x dizzy plugs.
1x conversion harness. obd0>obd1
1x 4 wire 02 sensor

why even switch to obd1 if you don't have to? do the mpfi swap with the A6 IM, that will bolt up to the Z6 head and your tranny will bolt to the motor.
All your sensors will plug up to an A6 IM. Simple, Thats what I just had in my car. Get your ecu chipped for Vtec (pm6) or you can just get a RPM switch. You could even use your stock EM until you get yourself a header which is what I recommend. Yeah switching to obd1 is a good thing but it is not necessary
