Right now I think I have pretty good idea of the direction I want to go to get this car to go. Now this is the key question I have for you guys. When it comes to power and added it, to stay reliable and a daily driver, what type of build is best, n/a or turbo? Im thinking n/a because it’s really just upgraded parts. Now the reason I ask because this thing will never hit the track only get me from home to work and school and riding around but I if a car gets to a light next to me and thinks it can take me I want them to know that my Honda is not a joke…..let me know the best route I should go to make sure this engine last. Don’t want no b-series swap just upgrade my d15b7.

look at my turbo setup in my sig...
i have a turbo b7...the only way to go on that motor
my setup didnt cost more than $1300 including tuning and if you were to stay n/a you'd be spending alot more $ to make less power.

if it is built with planning, ANYTHING CAN be reliable, i have built twin cammers to this day that havent had an oil leak or problem one, the key is doing lots of research, finding out what you want to do,i.e. n/a - turbo and ride in built cars, or if you have cool friends drive theirs and see how u like it, and how much you want to invest is the main factor

Well a turbo would be nice since my 1st car was an 1998 Eclipse GST and I loved it but can you make this set up on this engine be reliable?

there are tons of honda guys running reliable dsm turbo setups...... try home made turbo's website and forums, it shows you alot of things on building your own setup and what has worked, and not worked....

yeah for decent power and good DD reliability a turbo is a good way to go cause of the decent amount of cost. you also can have economy with it staying out of boost to just get around and when you feel like being a little fast rev up a little more. it really boils down to your wallet. that will determine how fast you wanna go.

yes you can, but the rods on the b7 are like pencils....snap....clunk clunk...hole

as for me i would upgrade to a d15b or a d16z6 but that is just me

so do you think the best route 1st to go is do a z6 swap?

you dont have to, imo i think they are stronger motors, you can boost the b7 just fine, just like the guy posted up there.....look for around 200-225 max hp on stock b7 - about 175-190ish whp

thats cool because I did not want to go over 200hp. I need to research this turbo set up now and see what i need to get done 1st on the engine before adding a turbo
