View Full Version : Another way of thinking-Illegal Immigration

A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages!! It explains things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.

Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.

Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part.) If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard-working and honest, um, except for well, you know.

And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being an anti-housebreaker. Oh yeah, and I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! Only in America....if you agree, pass it on (in English.) Share it if you see the value of it as a good simile. If not, blow it off along with your future Social Security funds.

I agree with her point of view mostly, except its more like they sold us their house, then broke into the house that used be theirs that now belongs to us. If I remember my history, didn't we BUY the southwest from them after they lost the Mexican-American war?

You know...I learned for a seminar, that if an illegal immagrant makes it to the untied states, (well use arizona for an example) And a woman and her husband goes into a hospital, when she is about to give birth, They cant refuse them! They have to take them in. That child they have, Born in the U.S, Is a Legal U.S citizen, allowing the parents to go to the govenor, and take money so they can live(or go to there cousen's house and stay with the rest of the Gonzalas family) in that state. I belive if you find somewhere where they are ion need of doctors, Arizona is more than likely at the top 10.

All names, and states were used in this post that represents, or is you name, it was complety un-intentional.

Actualy us euro-amricans (thats what we really are) took the land from the American Indians. All I have to say is this...they should have fought harder! True the south was founded from the spanish (euro-spanigh) and once again, they should have fought harder. Survival of the fittest was the thing back then. It might be time for another revolution. I'm stocking up as we speak.

wrong they stole it. they never bought it the american side of the story tells it wrong.

and i am suprised how closed minded people are here. either that of i just feel for these people cause of my race and heritage.

It has nothing to do with being mexican or any other race. There are laws inplace detailing the proper way to enter the country and become a citizen. We're complaining about those who feel they need to circumvent the law and come into the country illegally. Now Venezuela is importing Arabs to teach how to speak spanish and blend in as latinos for the specific purpose of sneaking into the country. Are you saying there's nothing wrong with that?
As for history, it's impossible to get the whole truth because it was written form the point of view of the person writing it. Of course history of two countries on opposing sides of the war will tell it "wrong".

so what if we stole there land back then, it would just be a desolate wasteland of economy lacking mud huts like the rest of mexico if we never took it and put it to good use.

whats done is done, the facts remains that it is america's land now and there are laws, anyone who brakes america's laws should be punished.

yes, it's so closed minded to follow the law, and have respect for the laws of the land that you live in. damn us for being so ignorant.

i've worked in this province and paid taxes since i was old enough to have a paper route. i'd be livid if people were protesting like that. i'll be damned if people are going to sneak into this country, set up shop and get help from my tax dollars to live well while i try to make ends meet.

with many protesters, i have seen that a majority of them protest in the same manner and for the same reason as people e-thug on the net, because they are too far removed and protected from the negative effects of the convictions they are protesting for.

I have never had a good experience with mexicans. Never. I have a slim, slim few mexican friends, but they are legal. I've had a car destroyed by a drunk mexican, I had a house burned by mexicans, I damn near lost my dad because of mexicans. Those leaching fuckers need to stay on their side of the fence. If they would quit sucking water out of the Rio Grande, they would atleast have to swim across. I'm tired of working my ass off to get by, while the spics next door don't do shit but fuck everything up, while living off my tax money. Bullshit. I'll push the red button if I have to.

Some people (Newt Gingrich being one of them), believe that mexicans will some day take back a good portion of the southwest, due to the large portion of legal and illegal immigrants, and the power they will eventually have as a result

Instant amnesty for illegal immigrants is a disservice to those who have been trying for years to become American citizens.

Why does Congress feel that they have to have a bill criminalizing those here illegally? Can they not understand the term 'illegal?'

Wasn't it Jesse Diaz who said, "Illegal immigrants are not criminals"? Obviously, he, or whoever said that, has the same low level of intelligence that our politicians display.

I'm curious to know how many Mexicans actually applied for residency before crossing the border. How do the Mexican citizens who have applied for residency and are still in Mexico feel about this?

Business owners who knowingly use illegals should have their business licences revoked.

With our government even considering amnesty, there will be a crushing flow over the border to beat the deadline. Anyone remember the Mariel boat lift?

Our government could use the funds and manpower they currently use to 'battle' petty marijuana offences.

Yes, the same way as countless oither american families came to be.

My relatives were handed nothing when they came here. They worked their asses off. Same city, 100 years later, we have an influx of Somalian refugees that demand everything, and get pissed at us locals when we question why they won't work for it.

Somalians are the next Nigerians...........the Nigerians are already in the states, give them a few years to breed and that's where the shit starts. You guys are worried about Mexicans, don't be, they want to work, the Nigerians and Somalians become pimps and pushers...........

WATCH-OUT!!!!
