confusion

ok im trying to learn more about tunning. i haved searched the forums and google but im not getting the info i want so hear goes..........i drive a 94 civic with a d15b vtec and its an automatic....and planning on tunning it by christmas. I know i could chip my ecu, use a plug and play,vafc etc but i dont really know what each ones exact purpose...some help

first off to tune yourself you need a wideband, chipped ecu, laptop, and a chip burner...
so your looking at spending some cash
wideband allows you to se your afr's, chipped ecu allows you to change setting with a program such as crome etc., a laptop allows you to run the program crome etc., and a chip burner allows you to burn the chip from your laptop..
