I just bought a house and im going to be painting the whole inside of it over.. The only thing is i dont know what paint brand i should get for quality.
Any input on paint that you guys have used or anything would help out. Theres so many brands i have no clue which is better then one another. Thanks everyone.

Dunno what brands you guys get over there, but locally I used nothing else but Dulux wash and wear, great if you have kids, also try stick to neutral colours........much easier on the eyes.................
If you have kids, definitely get one that's scrubbable. The cheaper ones get shiny when washed.
Look for one with good hide. Lowe's sells an inexpensive brand called Enterprise that seems to perform as well costlier brands. I don't know how well it scrubs though.
Don't use a cheap roller, they tend to leave fuzz on your wall.

I also say BEHR paint....keep in mind dark color rooms will feel and look smaller....

I think home depot uses the behr line as its house brand and it's fine. The high dollar paints are a lot like the tornado intake device. All they do is lighten your wallet.
FYI Depending on what color you are painting over you may need to do a primer coat. We painted a victorian red over an almost day glo yellow in the dining room when we bought the place and it took 2-coats of primer and 3-coats of red to hide it well.

I just re-painted most of my house and used Behr satin, semi-gloss, and flat and all turned out great. I alsl used ralph lauren semi-gloss and also looks good. As long as you take your time and make sure everything is preped correct you should be good to go with any paint. Heck I even got some wall-mart paint. Cant tell the difference.

+1 on the Behr.
& lowbuck is right. reds & yellows don't cover well.
Good luck & have fun. When you're done, you can come out & paint the inside of my house.

when i live with a gf several years ago, we used benjamin moore and it worked well for us. then again, we didn't have kids so that might be a factor for you.
i like warm earthy tone myself. our bedroom was painted a nice carmel colour and it really made sleeping quarters alot more inviting.

its not totally true that more expensive paint is not worth it. The difference in cost between paint is usually the amount of paint you get. The cheaper stuff just has more water and less titanium dioxide (the part that actually stays on the walls)That sounds kinda obvious but its true. If you get cheap stuff you'll just have to use more and thus not save money. Ceiling paint is usually a good idea too, its less drippy and easier to get coverage with.
Most people use satin for walls, semi gloss for trim, and high gloss for bathrooms and places you want to clean alot. You can use flat for ceilings, it gives a nice effect to the lighting but it will show any bumps/imperfections in the surface. Also if using light colors in a room you can keep a white ceiling, it spreads the light better than colors.
if i missed anything just ask, i used to sell paint
