valve lash ???

i currently "think" i have my valve lash at .006 and .008. at cold start up, it ticks when i rev or am in the lower rpms. when the car warms up...it's prety much gone. my question is, does the "ticking" occur because the setting is too tight? or too loose? because i'm still trying to "master" this whole adjusting valve lash thing.

...it's not knocking is it? ...tap tap, click click. sigh.

My car has some valve ticking as well. I will probably try to re adjust one day soon.
I have the Crower stage 3 cam, which is supposed to have a IN: 0.006" and EX: 0.008" lash.
On my friends stock Z6 I set the lash to 0.008 IN and 0.010 EX. That didn't tick...

hmm... yeah i guess i should loosen it up a tad - it's an a6 cam in a b7.
