Do you think boring the stock D16y8 TB is good or bad?
I'm planing to do it 2morrow.
I did a research for many hours but couldnt find the answer to my question...
I'll what i've known and understood was its good to have 60mm TB on a D16y8.

by the way do I have to replace or do anything else when i finish boring the TB ?
do I have to polish or bore anything else so the TB fits?

If I get the B18b TB is it plug and play or there is a difference in the sensor or whatever?

on a d16y8 equipped with a manual tranny, it's plug and play.

well, the throttle plate not gonna fit now.......might wanna research that before ruining a good throttle body.

A) it's not round
B) the edges aren't true either

I've read some very funny stuff on d-series today....first it was capping the crankcase vents for more power (still can't get over that), and now we're blowing up motors by bolting on bigger throttle bodies....

Where do people come up with this stuff...I'm not even sure I could make it up.

60mm is fine, maxbore is recommend for this purpose, b ut I'd just get any B series or H series throttle body.

you can run a 100mm tb, but if the pump isn't strong enough to suck in the air, it's not gonna hurt it. and if it is, then you need more fuel to burn.

I have a gs-r TB on a y-8 IM, I just had to switch the throttle linkage, and get gs-r TB gasket, I also ported out the IM to match the gasket. other than that it will bolt up fine.

I've been running a 60mm bored Y7 TB done by maxbore for about 6 months now. It runs great!
