Grr.
Oscar.. He has Hondata, static ignition timing needst o be stock (16 degrees BTDC).
In your Hondata maps, there is one of two thigns you can do. I had a long discussion about ignition retard with the founder of PGMFI, and he strongly pushes "Step Retard" vs a Linear retard, based on maintaining the safety of the engine, whilst not dropping power.
To Step Retard, take the values in your ignition map, 3psi on drop .25 degrees. Then from 6psi on, drop another .25 degrees. At 9psi on drop another .25 degrees..
To linear retard, multiply your boost level in psi, times the degree of retard, then subtract that number from your initial timing value. (Ex: If your cell has 20 degrees advanced at 3 psi, and you want a .7 degree retard.. new_value = 20 - (3 * .7) )
Either of these methods should safely retard your ignition, provided it wasn't too outrageous to begin with.
If it was.. try to find your stock ignition maps, and use them with the modified fuel maps.. Then hit a dyno to tune ignition.
