Hey. I just replaced the tranny in my del sol two days ago. Before hand I tore the tranny down, inspected the gears, synchros, shift forks, bearings, etc. and all seemed to be in good working order. After I got the tranny in the car, i cannot move the shifter at all. The shift forks and shifter deal all worked fine before i took the tranny apart and put it back together. Someone told me something about a shift detent spring or something that i may have put in wrong or too tight or something. if anyone has any info on this please let me know. any help is greatly appreciated. :(

shift arm interlock bolt was installed before the countershaft was locked in is my guess......

rookie mistake, I did it, warn Bauley, didn't help.

If that is the problem I should have a spare arm......

the interlock bolt is the big one with the shallow head on top right

that sucks! I know the bolt felt a lot tighter when i was putting it back in. So i guess I should start pulling the tranny back out?

when you thread in the interlock guide bolt, you gotta make sure it is going into the retagular opening and not anything eles like the above picture. before you install the tranny, use a large screw or something to test shift it. just dont play with it too much though (like me), coz there is no oil inside...

After screwing one up, (not quite as bad as the one above) I turn em all the way in by hand now.
