***Updated 8-30-2006***
Car: 1992 Honda Civic DX 4dr
Suspension: brand spankin new inner and outer tie rod ends (both sides), KYB AGX's, Skunk2 coilover sleeves, Skunk2 front camber kit, Omni camber rear
I usually drive with my cd player on or with the windows up, but yesterday I had the windows down and I heard this knocking sound when I made a routine right turn after stopping at a stop sign. It seems to be in the front, and a problem when making a right turn, not a left turn-I'll check on that today. Also, my suspension used to pretty tight as far as straight driving, but recently I've noticed a little more loose play in the steering wheel and also when I hit little bumps in the road the front end seems to jerk around a little more than usual. WHat Could THis BE>>??? Sway bar links? Control arms? Need new shocks? Better or different shock/spring combo?
Thanks in advance.

Could be 2 separate issues. The sounds while turning could be a CV joint.
The general "rattle/clunk" whn hitting bumps is probably your ball joint. I had that was just starting to go bad while the other one was good. I put on 205/40-17 tires, mixed in a bit of Michigan roads, and now both ball joints are bad. It's most noticeable on smaller bumps.

Ok, so I ended up replacing the driver side axel bc the boot had a decent rip in it and it was spewin lube around. The passenger side axel looked to be in great shape, so I inspected the boots and left that one alone.
But I still have an issue. My suspension is still a little jerky. The front end + the steering wheel is still jumping around and trying to switch lanes on its own. WhAt CoUlD tHiS bE?///??????? AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Should I just come out of pocket and have a custom shop align ma shtuff? Cause I did the yarn/string and the bunjie cord DIY backyard alignment job (which worked fine I thought) and I know Pep Boys and places like that wont align your vehicle if you have altered the ride height and/or have aftermarket suspension...unless you know someone that works there and has access to the shop afterhours, which I do not. HELP ME PLEASE!!! AHHHHHH!!!!

Any chance you're near SE Michigan? If so, you could stop by and I'll take a look at it.

I think I might be having another problem with the axels now. I jacked up the front end last night because when I was driving home from a friends house I was hearing this weird noise, sounded like something was in my front driver side tire. So I pulled over and inspected the front tires, and nothing. So I drove home (about 5 minutes away) and the noise started to amplify, especially when turning left. When I turned on to my street it was super loud and I was hoping I would make it home, I got in front of my house and when I hit the braked to pull into the driveway my break pressure was funny and the brake pedal started to pulsate. This has never happened to me before so I was freakin out. I parked it and havnt drove it yet, bc I think its very unsafe.
Also I jacked up the front end to check it out and possibly see what it could be, and when I rotated the pass side wheel (which simultaneously spun both wheels) I heard this weird clank sound where the axels meet in the tranny. COuld replacing one axel and not the other have any effect on the other or on other simliar parts? HELP!!! Thanks alot.

Ok so I tightened my lugs, and that problem was solved. :self smack: stupid me I know... but because the two screws that hold the rotor to the disc are broken off, and I havnt drilled them out and replaced them yet...the only thing that was holding the rotor secure was the lugs+wheel tightened on-and since they werent=why I experience some pulsating when braking.
Today I replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends for both sides, along with the boots for both. Under the front end, I noticed the bottom motor mount is pretty much shattered and completely destroyed. I dont know if that has anything to do with this current problem, but I am going to replace that pretty soon.
Also, will replacing the lower ball joints help even if they have no play in them and seem to be in good condition? Possibly re-lube? I was also told to replace my sway bar link/bushings......but I dont believe I have those? Sway bar links? The Haynes Repair Manual for the 1992 thru 1995 Civic/Del Sol has nothing on that...HELP!!! Your input is so greatly appreciated!

use Energy suspension endlinks. I dont see a point of replacing it if its in ok shape. but if your planing on redoing the whole front might as well. its what I will be doing after clutch and boost :).
