when you chip your ecu you allow the fuel, ignition timing maps to be altered via ...Crome,uberdata,turbo-edit,etc....
When you use a VAFC,SAFC, you basically change the signal to the injectors sent from the ecu....allowing them to stay open longer or shorter amts. of time...thus making the Air fuel ratio richer or leaner...
there would essentially be no need in using both being that the chipped ecu already has fuel remapping covered....

Maybe, not sure about non-vtec cars... I have a vafc2. But I use it only for my vtec.

im not sure what you said. The ecu is stock, the only fuel management part i used was for vtec unmatched, more fuel when vtec engages because the stock computer thinks vtec engages at stock point

We'll Before I Had Turbo On My D16y8 , Iwas Running A Jet Chipped Obd Ii With A Vafc Controller It Was Making Better Power Than My Stock Computer.

I turned the vtec to 4500 rpm's I changed the vtec unmatched all the way up, so when vtec engages, it enriches the mixture, because the ecu thinks the car isnt running vtec yet.

I payed $40 for the p28, and paid another $30 to my buddy to convert it to manual and chip it. Pretty good deal if you ask me :TU:

Well it depends on what you are trying to accomplish...if complete tuning is the goal than chipping your ecu and using one of the already mentioned software's to burn a chip is the way to go .... in this case you dont need to use a VAFC, SAFC....because the chipped ecu has all of the capability's of the vafc and safc plus a ton of other features...
if you just want a light show and some motec exaust then get the safc...:hammer:
