i just did some research and i kinda stumbled on an idea, i want to trow together a high compression na motor for my car, i blew the rings so i mite as well build it while i have the internal out. I have a thread in engine building if you want to read it. Aneways i want to know if using a d17 crank and gx pistons i will increase the stroke and compression, can i run the stock ecu and compensate for the increased bore by bumping up the fuel pressure???? Itll be 1668.35 cc's, 12.41: comp ratio, and .032" piston to deck height.

with that high comp you need a good tune. so stock ecu will not cut it. get a chipped ecu and a wb with crome you should be able to rock it out.

yea i was afraid of that, but only cuz ecu tuning is a whole nother relm i have to dive into. Ohh well, if the motor goes together good then itll be worth it to tune.

I don't know man, i mean i love that my d has such a high stroke and yet is able to rev high, but even more stroke dude?
I don't like the idear realy.
Better have that cranck very well straightenned, balanced, micropolished and shot peened.
Here's a thought, why not buy a c32a acura legend engine, these things are dirt-cheap.
You'd have a nice amount of horses and a lot more isaac newton's under the hood that way.

i have a vafc2 already on the car, if i alter the map sensor output to the ecu in percentage across the board my car is 1590.61 cc's stock, if i set the vafc for a percentage higher that i bumped the stroke, do you think it will run at close to the correct fuel levels, i know it will throw off the timing but i can retard the dizzy to counteract this? say 5% increase???

why spend money to mod the bottom end then skimp on the tuning. you will get more life with a good tune, not to mention that obvious more power which you are looking for obviously. and pre-det with high compression is a bad idea. why cheap out on management, thats where u do NOT wanna go cheap. what is with everyone and NOT wanting to do shit right on this site *sarcasm*
/end rant

dude i wasnt going to actually run it like that, i was just going to do that so i can bring it cross town to a shop, speedfab, so i can get it tuned on a dyno with a chpped ecu. no rant needed, i kno that people cheap out when it comes to management, and it pisses me off too. Do it rite the first time is my motto. Now where is that ebay chip of mine... lol jk.

at no point in time in your first post did you mention it was temporary. go ahead and get a basemap for your set up made and use it on the chipped ecu and then take it to the shop after the engine is broke in and then get it tuned. please dont throw more at us, remember we are D-series engine owners, we are already too dumb to realize its a junk engine, let alone read your mind.

sry i didnt mentio it was temporary, thats what i was thinkin but like you said, you cant read my mind. Yea i think ill go with the base map idea, thanx for the help.
