im THINKING about throwing a "small" 50 shot maybe zex or n.o.s kit on my turbo app after im done with the build. Obviously im going to hae it tuned again if i decide to throw it on there. how "safe" would it be to do this in order to keep my car a daily driver?
motor setup
y8 head
p&p job
3 ang valve job

as long as your not using it to get through the burger king drive through faster you'd be fine.

You might want to invest in 2 fuel pumps one intank and one inline,if you dont have a walbro intank one allready and are using a wet single fogger, if its dry forget I mentioned it.

I have heard that running nitrous with a turbo makes the shot size go up in power,ie turns a 25 shot into a 50 shot, etc etc.Don't know if its true though I've never done both but i'm thinking about it. If it does then all you have to do is run smaller jets no big problem.

Speaking from experience. I have a 95 D16Z6 with a Venom VCN-1000 nitrous kit. Probably the worst kit you can get due to the instructions that were written. I am not sure that the person who wrote the directions understands anything about cars, nitrous or installation. Other than that the kit is very nice.
My issue is that I now have no compression in the number 2 cylinder. This is due to the nitrous, please also note that this car has 189,000 miles on it. What happen is the VCN-1000 computer module engages the nitrous only if the parameters are correct, Wide-open-throttle, Specific RPM or greater and a few other sensors readings. Now the only thing that it does NOT do is shut off the nitrous when you hit the rev limiter. Which is what happened in my case. A simple POP sound and now, no compression in number 2. One of the exhaust valves on this cylinder now looks like a crescent moon.
After some research mostly on D-Series, I found a product called a window switch. This marvelous devise turns on whatever you have connected to it at a specific RPM and off at a specific RPM. So no more nitrous pouring in when the rev limiter hits. This devise as well as new valves etc. is being installed over the next week. I am excited to try it out again.
So, should you get Nitrous? Yes! But educate yourself and get a window switch.
