I just bought one of those bolt on check valves from ebay. It was a no name brand. When the start the car it will run for about 20 sec. and the car will shut off. And if I try to push the throttle down it will shut down too. Is it just cause its a cheap valve. Has anyone ever had this prob. ALso how bad is it to run the car without the check valve. Cause I'm not using one now until I figure this problem out.....

It`s because you`re using an afc hack and your IAT is just hanging out in the engine bay. Show us pics of your hacked up ghetto installed turbo kit.

I installed my IAT. And what does the afc have to do with the check valve not working right. Also, its not a hack job so ask questions before you Assume! http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g316/kmartcivic/22ec305c.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g316/kmartcivic/b0717ec0.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g316/kmartcivic/9aa07a23.jpg

Im not possitive but my guess would be either the valve was stuck shut or you put it in upside down and the map sensor wasnt getting any kind of reading and it killed the car. just a wild guess...

I'm sure that has nothing to do with it. The check valve is probably in upside down. It should throw a map code pretty quickly like that...and start idleing very rich.

I'm working on an adapter plate and running the check valves inline like the ones in the honda tuning a while back. If it works it only cost me 5 bucks. The check valves are working good. I don't seem to be having any problems. Can't drive too far. (no license for a year). I made the adapter plate out of plastic and ran a line to my T's with check valves and mounted my map sensor on the firewall.
