this happens somethimes when i push the gas all the car dose is sputter and then eventually cut off. sometimes this happens while im driving and the car starts to slow down when i push the gas

what motor are you running... do you tune up your engine every 3,000 miles, is there any prob's with your engine that your aware of?...

My 99 hatch used to do that. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the first O2 sensor, this was after my CEL light came on. It was better, but it still did it ever once in a while. There was an ingintion recall for 96-00 Civics too.

You do drive a 96-00 Civic right?

my car did that for awhile, then someone said it was cuz i was using the platinum4 plugs, took them out and changed the wires, problem gone.

check dizzy. It might just be an old distributor because it sounds just like u dont have good spark (lasts 30K). Also if spark plugs are more then 30K miles change those too. spark plug wires should be good for 60K but check for dark spots on the wiring.
