hi i skimmed/milled my D16z6 0.88m/ 0.35". i used the original honda head gasket and everything on the engine is standard. the timing is in the correct place but the engine is not running right and is pinking. also the car does not pick up speed correctly and the timing is messed up.

i advanced the timing by rotating the distributor but where it is good and the car runs good the screws cant all fit only the top one. so i may need to modify the distributor.

is that what i need to do or is that not the right way. and the timing belt is the original d16z6 as well.

any infomation will help please.

.35" is alot the most u should've done is .010-.020... that could be the reason wy ur timing isn't working rite...

are you timing this with a light?? if you positioned the belt in the same place from before, you milled the head, you'll definately be off a tooth or more. that is quite a bit of milling, but i wen't .040" on my last motor. i'd recomend not driving it until it runs right,.. as for that you should have all the bolts in the distributor if the motor is running. you shouldn't have to modify it at all. that's where an adj. cam gear would be a big help.

hi im going to use the light today to try to set the timing of the distributor. but before the head was milled up put marks on the cam and cam belt and once it was milled the belt is still sitting on the same place. does that mean i need to get a cam gear and should i advance or retard the timing?

thanks
