Ok, the sohc zc motor from japan (am i right in saying there's a sohc zc?), what are the differences in power and such than the D16A6 here in the states, like in the 89-91 CRX Si? I ran a near stock(header, no cat, CAI) zc last night in a 89 CRX Si, and he beat me by a little over half a second or better each time. I have more mods in my engine/tranny, but i know my 17's slowed me down, but could it be that much? He seemed to pull harder in second than i did. Any ideas?(besides saying i just suck, lol)

isn't the sohc zc cam more agressive?

Large and heavy wheels suck when trying to go fast. First of all, it kills the hell out of your gearing. Next of all, it takes lots of extra horsepower to turn them. Been there, and have done that. Stay with stock wheels when looks aren't an issue.

Yeah, i kinda thought the cam might be a little more agressive too, but i don't have any specs, just speculation. I'm going to get me a set of wheels for when i got to the track. My stock wheels are on that Si i raced. They were the ones from the 90, his is an 89, with those uglier ones. Heh, they got stole or else i'd buy his old ones, lol. And btw, the tires aren't much bigger in diameter, but each tire/wheel is about 5 lbs heavier than the stock setup. Ya think this (probably teamed with his more track experience) could make the difference in almost a second?

17's owned you. Not only are they heavy but they widen your gearing a bit. Do you both have the Si trans or do you have a DX/EX/HF/DOHC ZC?

the people who did the measuring didn't do it correctly.

I know have the cam checker working properly, still need to do the writeup on it.

Send me a SOHC nonVTEC ZC cam, I have numbers at .001"/.010"/050" valve lift to compare it with.

Bisi approved :)

Yea, i noticed they are a little bigger in diameter. And yes, we both are running the Si tranny...One problem too was that I was having problems with second, a little grinding every time i try to hit it hard.
