A6 has cast iron mains. Z6s are just aluminum. How much strength that actually adds I don't know. Why Honda put cast iron mains in the A6 but aluminum in all other 1.6 blocks seems to be a mystery as well.

Ok, thanks. I'm actually curious about jdm motors, sohc zc, d15b. It's still the same though right, zc has the cast iron mains? Just to clarify, were talking main crank journals?
I always hear how z6's hold 10-12 psi all day, so I was curious about the zc/a6/ I never hear about those.

DOHC ZC has aluminum mains. All of the 1.6 rods are the same strength.
There's nothing special about the SOHC ZCs. As far as anyone has been able to prove there may or may not be a hotter cam in the non-VTEC SOHC ZCs. It's basicly just an A6. I with people would stop calling the SOHC motors ZCs it just confuses everyone.

They use the same as y7 too. It's the same part number, and they are physically the same.
No to hijack, but we see that y8 piston aren't the same lenght, and not closed under wrist pin, are they strong as others ?

Shorter skirt means less friction. I would think it might lead to some additional wear on the sidewalls but it's not something I would worry about. You should see the skirts on D17 pistons.

But I heard longer skirt means more strenght and more resistance to wal contact, less pistons 'knocking' when cold. I don't think that a6 pistons are so bad ?
