View Full Version : Head milling + stock pistons.
ZC VTEC (Z6) motor.
I have got Crower stage 2 camshaft. Want to shave head 0.040", leave stock p28 pistons, but doubt of valve safety.
Opinions?

valve clearance, not sure, but i know it will screw up your timing and slack your timing belt all to hell.

Screw up your timing, yeah, slack your timing belt, eh, that's what the tensioner is for.

not after .040 then they'll have to get a shorter 103 tooth (VX) timing belt and adjustable cam gear.
the tensioner only moves so far, and the belt will almost touch itself anyway.
adjustable cam gear
-yeah, its about 3 degree retard required...
they'll have to get a shorter 103 tooth
Belt length! - quite forgot about it, thank you! :)
Well, my rew limit is 8000rpm now, should it be OK after head milling?
