i'm going to be running a y8 with zc pistons and a cometic 70mm hg. my motor is pretty much stock with just a sprocket and intake but i'm planning on buying stage 2 crower cams with the valve springs and retainers.would this be a safe setup for a DAILY DRIVER. what kind of gas should i be using because i'm hearing about pistons exploding and i want to know how to prevent that. we only have 91 here at the pumps and we have to go to the main dispatch to order anything higher. also, where the hell can i buy piston rings for my zc pistons?!

that be around 11.8:1 if 91 is all you got where your at, then make sure to go conservative on the timing. when you put that cam in, id suggest you clay the motor, because thats a fairly big cam and valves dont like meeting pistons... so clay the motor with vtec engaged and check for clearance... it can be a good DD, depends on the tune as well. you can get rings at auto parts store like autozone...
the reason the pistons fail is because too much detonation occurs with extreme ignition timing... so its all in the tune...
