im doing a mini-me swap using a D16Y7 bottom, a D16Z6 head, a D16Y8 distribtor, a auto tranny from a D16Y8, the engine harness from a Y8 auto,
a Y8 auto ECU and am wanting to use a Y8 Intake manifold.
except that the Y8 I/M is off a 5 speed is there a way for me to be able to
use it? will a need to modify the Y7 T/B using parts of a Z6 T/B? or dose it
matter if the Z6 T/B is off a five speed?
as im still pretty new to this i need all the help i can get. thanks

Block off plate where the iacv goes. Try to get a y8 tb. or do a 3 wire to 2 wire iacv fix and switch to a p28 ecu.

the differences in the throttle body are actually in the lever (lack of better term) that the cable wraps around, im not sure if OBD2 hondas used electronic shifting or they still have a detent cable, but if they do, thats the difference, the manual TB wont have the (cant think of the name for the life of me) the part the cable wraps around to tell the tranny how much throttle is open.
the difference in the intake manifold is the Idle air control valve, which on a Y8 is the same auto or manual (two wire). and as far as i know, the throttle bodies are the same size across the board (for d-series), so your original throttle body should be ok.

Y8 automatic is a 3 wire iacv on the tb. 5 spd is 2 wire.

I believe it's called the "throttle rotor", Yes? :TU:

would i be able to swap the iacv from the Y7 I/M onto the Y8 I/M
and use the Z6 T/B from a 5-speed

The iacv is on the throttle body on a y7 auto and manual and y8 auto. The z6 is on the back of the manifold.

is the iacv also on the back of the Y8 I/M
is so could i just leave it there and use a Y7 T/B by switching the throttle
rotor from a Z6

Yes the 2 wire iacv is on the back you for a 5 speed you could do exactly what you just said with the tb but take the iacv off the y7 tb and make a block off plate for where the y7 iacv used to go.
