dsm injector and safc install problem .HELP! long post...

hey guys.. well i just installed the dsm injectors with my safc.

the injectors are installed per homemade turbo instructions with the seal and all. i have 10 watt 10 ohm resistors installed on the yellow and black wire which is the ground which is what every web site said to do.

the safc was purchased used off ebay i had it on the car before the injector install and it ran good.
the safc settings are
sensor type 6 in 6 out is this correct?
car type 4cyl and the arrow pointing up
ne 1k,2k,3k,4k,5k,6k,7k,8k,
low and hi throttle -48% on idle and -30% from 2k to redline.
dec air off

my problem is it looks to be running to rich per my air fuel meter, it used to bounce back and forward but now it just stays in the rich zone.

if i lower the corection amount say to 35% or less if i hold a rev at say 2000 or even 4000rpm the car will act like its on a rev limiter. it will stay at 4000 then it will drop out the come back to 4000 then drop out like its on a rev limiter..

arent these settings to rich? or will the hack not work right untill i have the turbo in and the map sees boost to raise the map voltage? im guessing its a map sensor voltage thing, the computer doesnt like such low voltage, is this correct?

Yeah, those settings seem like they should be rich. I have never ran a car with the hack without a turbo, but I'm guessing that has something to do with it. That would be like runnign a missing link with the hack. What is the High/low throttle setting at? (settings, TH-point)

why dont you take the car to a decent shop and not take a chance on melting down your motor? I think you've had enough online tunning sessions. I'm not trying to put you down but here is what's goign on.

you have NO expirnece with this at all. you come online to a bunch of peopel you don't know and ask them to tune your car from a keyboard. WTF are you thinking? Take the car to a shop and it properly tuned. actaully there is NO reason to even have the afc and larger injectors installed unles you have the turbo. W/O the turbo your pissing your $ away. so think about that. My suggestion is to unplug the afc, install your stock old injectors, and when you have the turbo installed, have a "good" shop who knows what they aer doing install the afc and injectors. at leas tthey will be able to properly get it in tune.

I think of any of you here even attempt to "TRY" tu tun ehis car from your keyboard w/o being there and seeing what's gogi on in person, your an idiot. No offence, but No one here is godo enough to even consider to attpemt that, heck I don't know of ANY tome tuners who woudl even attempt this either. so your not going to prove to anyone you knwo more by attempt to tune it this way. This guy needs pro help from someone in his area who can physically put their hands on the car. So please do not offer him any assistance with tunning.

if nothign else, if you tell him to do this or that and the motor blows (most liklet would) your now lyable for it. why? you took it upon yourself to tell a nivice car person how to tuen his car. he doesn;t haev ANY expirnec at it. Heck, I would not even attempt it and I've got a lot fo car expirnece. Think Before you Speak on here guys. We don;t need anyone to get this guy to rui his motor and blame you. He would then have "legal" rights to sue you for the $ to replace his motor, and YES he woudl win. I've seen 3 cases jsut liek this already and all 3 the guy who took the adice from a so called onlien expert won the suit. Each one involved an minium of $35g (court costs, mostly) So unles you have $35g burnign a hole in your pocket, I'll highly recommend no one here tell him how to adjust it.

consider this a warning to everyone on here about how to handle yourself online. Just because you hide behine a bogus name, doens't mean you can legally give someone advise like this and nt be held responsible. So please lets not have any issues k?

high low set at 64 and 65 % thats the th-point.. im leaning toward since its not seeing boost the map voltage is to low so the ecu is cutting out . i still dont know why it wont throw a code while it does this if it is really the ecu doing this.

any more ideas ? anything would be great...

If that was the case, than we should delete any and all posts from every forum across the internet. There is no way you can sue me for taking my advise about a setting on your car. I wasn't paid for any services. I am not a shop. I am not at all legally responsible for anything. If you have proof of these "online lawsuits" I would like to see them.

You are right though, there is no way I can tune his car over the internet, but I can offer help with his questions. I agree that it is a waist to use an AFC with 450cc injectors on a N/A motor. It is a waist and it is robbing horsepower. Unless you have it tuned with a wideband it's not going to give you any good results. Even then, if you don't have any major performance modifications then it won't gain you shit. The facotry ecu will compenssate for an intake/exhaust/yada yada yada.

Where was anyone when I asked if I can install dsm with the safc without the turbo installed yet I got an ok response, so I tried it. fuck you. UPDATE! i reset the computer and went for a drive and leaned out the settings. they are now at

1k, -46%
2-8k, -44%

runs like stock. even the air fuel meter acts like it did before this whole deal. thanks dr boost for your post. looks like all it needed was to reset the computer...

No boost, I never called you an idiot, not him. My whole point was for both of you to realize the situration and how dangerous it was. he is very inexpirenced. that's different than calling him a "moron" as he puts it in his next post after yours" I wanted him to "think twice" before trying to play with the setup himself. I've seen wAY too many issues with novice users trying to start from stratch. Take it to the shop ans let them tunr it, then he coudl get a widebar sensor and later do tweaking on the system as the wrather changes in order to stay at peek performance. But instead of thinking about it, you BOTH decide to come at me liek a coule of rotwilers. Nice...
