i have a hondata s200 unit im planning on going with a vtec head for my d16 setup. ive always heard it is alot harder to get a good tune with a vtec motor because when the vtec engages the ignition and fuel maps make a dramatic change..
how hard is it to get this tuned with the hondata FI and a dyno and will i run into trouble
and is vtec really worth having with FI

SOHC VTEC is cake to tune. The VTEC "lope" isn't near as dramatic. You don't have to worry about cam overlap, and to compensate for VTEC, as a base increase fuel and ignition advance by 3% over the crossover point.
This, obviously, if you're using a non-VTEC ECU.
If you switch to a VTEC ECU, you'll have a high and low cam, map specifically dealing with VTEC in and out conditions.

well then which vtec head will yeld the best results for making more power/best torque curve im thinking y8 but ive been having people tell me z6
