Just thought I would introduce myself finally, even though I've been lurking for months now.
My name is Andy, and I'm from Garland Texas (big suburb of Dallas FYI). I'm pretty new to the import tuning world, but I've always had a love for Honda vehicles. My mom had a 88 Civic Wagon when I was a kid that she always has said was the best car she ever bought. It died an early death due to a car accident, but my mom's still ticking along, about to buy an Odessy, actually.
My interest in tuning came when I bought my 2000 white Civic Hatch about 2 years ago. Never really got serious about it, but now I'm finally in the financial position to start doing some mods to my car over the next couple years.
Suspension and shoes so far:
Skunk2 Pro-Series full coil-over assemblies
Skunk2 front and rear camber kits
Yokohama Avid H4s 195/60/r14, on stock alloys
Possible future plans for my car include:
sway bars, probably stock SI bars, unless I splurge for something like the Comptech tie/sway bar combo.
Urethane bushings
cross drilled/slotted rotors and better pads
Y7/Y8 mini-me conversion with Y8 5spd, it's auto now, blech...
Jackson Racing supercharger
some headwork, pnp and valve-job at least
Crower stage 2 cam
Hondata for tuning preferably the s300
DSM 450 injectors
walboro fuel pump
header and cat back exhaust, hopefully a custom 2.5 incher
Any other goodies needed to maximize the supercharger's potential.
I'm shooting to break 150 whp (or more?) with a metric shit ton of JRSC torque for fun daily driving and hopefully some respectable times at the track.
If I get more serious about it later, forged internals, stage 3 cam, and some nitrous might be fun, but that's way more hp (and less streetable) than I'm looking for at this stage of the game.
I want to keep it as a sleeper, so I will probably stick with stock rims for daily driving, but I'll pick up some rota 15's or some other good lightweight wheel for track days. I would also like to paint the black trim white to match the rest of the car, cleaner looking i think. She may get type R lips at some point, but I've already decided not to blow any money on aesthetics until I'm making some good horsepower. Honda made the 6th generation beautiful from the factory, body kits just aren't my thing.
So that's me, if you have any suggestions or advice (other than "go turbo"), I'm all ears. So far, 99% of my questions have been answered just by picking through the forums and searching, mainly here, but on Super Honda as well. But if I decide I have a truly unique question, I'm sure you'll see me post about it.
