there's not sigh in being a member of d-series. welcome to the site. what's the plan for your car?

Thanks for the welcome. This is actually my first car (im only 17), so cash is low. This car is obviously my daily driver. I want to give it a little bit more go, and better handling, but still keeping it good enough/confortable for a DD. I am not sure if I will go FI, however i do understand it will be tough to make power NA on a D series.

I was first thinking of getting an aem sri,dc sports header, and a catback(ws2 or exmag), and lower it.

Can anyone suggest other stuff?

Damn, that's a nice first car...mine was a 1978 chevy malibu v6 pos 2dr...second was a 1988 rivierra...that sucked besides the OEM touch screen computer.

welcome, you can make decent pwer with a d na, it just cost more than going turbo:) Check around the site, you can build a homemade turbo kit pretty inexpensive

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah its a pretty nice starter car, took me months to find though.

Can anyone give me a guesstimate how much an aem short ram intake, dc sports 4-2-1 header, apexi ws2 exhaust, aem cam gear, ngk spark wires/plugs,aem fuel rail, AEM Tru-Power Pulley Kit would give me?

Im guessing 15hp?

15 hp sounds close to what it would give give or take a few hp.

I agree, keep a stock body and any drop of money going to the car goes to the motor.

Welcome to the board from a fellow n00b =-)

Don't make the Newb mistake and get caught up in body kits, neon and stickers! You'll regret it and wish you put it on you're engine a year later! Welcome to the sight nice fist car.

I suggest focusing on one area at a time. Like suspension, then power adders etc... its a little easy to compile things and put them in together especially on a tight budget.
Torbs I feel you man my first ride was an 87 Hyundai Excel GLS. I think the GLS stood for Good Luck Sucker!lol:razz:

Actually thats a good setup. I like my AEM for my Rex. Intakes are always a fun upgrade! Welcome to the board. Just remember this one tip, search before you ask.
